Emmeline is a multi-disciplined artist & designer, previously based at Redbrick.

After studying textiles and surface pattern design at Leeds Arts University, and a summer spent travelling in Africa, she exhibited her first collection ‘Urban Nomad' at New Designers Exhibition in London in June 2019. An explosion of pattern and colour with a tribal modernist aesthetic.

Fusing contemporary and traditional techniques, spanning 2D and 3D surfaces,  her work blends graphic lines and geometric shapes with biomorphic forms and textures. Influenced by both urban industrial landscapes and the natural environment, after living between the UK and Australia for several years.

Now based in Yorkshire, working freelance. Her design work is applied to wallpaper, clothing and homewares and was recently featured in the Sunday Times Home, and Alex Russell's Fundamentals of Printed Textile Design (second edition). Progressively working in greater scale, on exterior and interior installations as well as product design, art direction and research, Emmeline has worked with brands such as Hallmark, Lego, Selina Hotels, Northern Rail, Kirklees Council and Beam Arts.

She has designed 6 contemporary compositions for Redbrick,  inspired by the courtyard garden tucked away in the heart of the complex, and the architectural geometry of the iconic building that she knows very well.
